Bio

Judith is an embroidery artist of Dutch-German origin, currently based in Dieppe, France.
She moved to Paris in 2016 where she trained in embroidery at Ecole Lesage.

Following an internship in London in 2020, Judith knew she wanted to create art instead of fashion. A passion for writing and music naturally became part of her embroidery.
Curiosity turned cleaning up the local beach into creating artworks with ocean waste.

It became important to create work with materials and techniques used in fashion, and incorporate collected waste; giving new purpose to washed-up materials.
All artworks are stories within stories. Inspiration coming from many origins — words, books, lyrics, writing, music, nature, colours, people — can be found in the embroidery; they are a reflection of her being.

In 2020 Judith co-founded The Shade Of Green. The goal of this website is to make it easier for people to find and buy sustainable products by sharing information.
